What can we do in three hours?????
We will take the hightlighs of the city, giving you a very good general view of Barcelona. We will do as much as possible, mainly using the car to visit places for about 10 of 15 minutes each stop (flexible depending your particular interests). In every stop you will receive an explanation about the monument or location.
Morning (8 to 10) is best time to start tours.
Barcelona is, no doubt, the city of Gaudí. Antoni Gaudí, one of most important architects in history. He left a number of buildings you must visit.
Above all of them is Sagrada Familia expiatory temple, an unfinished Catholic church began to build in 1882 and still unfinished. Maybe you like, maybe not, but you can not say you have been to Barcelona till you visit this amazing work in a mix of gothic and modern art style.
Park Güell is another work by Gaudi. Located in an upper area of the city, 15 minutes away Sagrada Familia, is now a days a public park plently of coloured tile, nice gardens and outstandind stone shape. Uniquel design and great views of the city, a must.
Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (also known as "La Pedrera"). Located in the main city bulebard, Passeig de Gracia St., are two impressive buildings we can enjoy and admire their nice shape and rich ornation
Of course all those places can be visited inside, some are free, like Park Güell, some others you have to pay a fee and in case of Sagrada Familia is better if you buy a ticket from Internet. All this visits I always recommend you do on your own, no rush, once you have seen them first from the car tour.
More things we will see.
La Rambla. One of the most famoust promenades in Europe, La rambla takes one mile long from the Old Pier and Christopher Columbus memorial, to Catalonia square, the beating heart of Barcelona. Is a perfect place for people watching, alive 24h 365d is the place where locals and visitors merge in the admiration of Liceu (opera house), Boquería Market (wonderful fresh product market). Shops, street performers an terraces make of this avenue perfect place for a nice stroll.
Motjuich mountain. Is one of the hills surrounding the city but almost on it. Olimpic games 1992 were held in the Montjuich Olimpic Stadium built in 1929 and renovated to become the site of one of more succesful Olimpic Games ever celebrated. More sports facilities buit for the occasion like Palau Sant Jordi can be seen. The wonderful Magic Fountain will touch your heart .
Passeig de Gràcia. Is the main bulevard in Barcelona. A wide avenue with several buildings by Gaudi and some other buildings designed by architects maybe not so famous but not less talented. First international fashion firms are located in this avenue. Nice terraces where you can enjoy tapas and mediterranean and international specialities.
